Volunteers play a critical role in protecting the investment BBPA and Essex County have made in Branch Brook Park while providing opportunities for group team-building activities, community service and a rewarding day in the park. Volunteers participate in activities such as mulching newly planted trees, weeding, invasive plant removal, planting shrubs, flowers and bulbs and waterway
clean-ups.

For the coming year, the following days have been set aside for volunteer activities:

• Spring Field Day/Cherry Blossom Clean Up, Saturday, April 2, 2011
• Partners for Parks, Monday, April 25, 2011
• Jersey Cares Day, Saturday, May 7, 2011
• September Field Day, Friday, September 15, 2011
• Prudential Global Volunteer Day, Saturday, October 1, 2011
• November Field Day, Saturday, November 19, 2011
